VAT return tips
1. Keep track of everything:
Make sure you're keeping accurate records of all your transactions, like receipts and invoices. This way, you can avoid any mistakes when you're filling out your VAT return.
2. Know your VAT rates:
Different goods and services are subject to different rates of VAT, so it's important to know which ones apply to your business. This will help you avoid charging the wrong amount of VAT.
3. Don't be late:
HMRC usually requires you to submit your VAT return every quarter, so make sure you're doing it on time. You have one month and seven days after the end of the VAT return period to get it done.
4. Check, check, and check again:
Before you submit your VAT return, make sure you double-check your calculations. Any mistakes could end up costing you money.
5. Get help if you need it:
